What external factors can cause delays?

Some delays can arise from factors outside Simonds’ control. These may include:

  • Government or industry restrictions
  • Delays from utility providers, such as gas, power or water connections
  • Insurance events, including fire, flooding or serious vandalism
  • Unexpected site conditions, such as rock encountered during excavation
  • Material shortages or discontinued products requiring re-selection
  • Weather conditions, including heat, rain or strong winds - anything that may make the work-site unsafe

While these factors don’t always stop construction altogether, they can affect scheduling which may then result in delays.
