What external factors can cause delays?
Some delays can arise from factors outside Simonds’ control. These may include:
- Government or industry restrictions
- Delays from utility providers, such as gas, power or water connections
- Insurance events, including fire, flooding or serious vandalism
- Unexpected site conditions, such as rock encountered during excavation
- Material shortages or discontinued products requiring re-selection
- Weather conditions, including heat, rain or strong winds - anything that may make the work-site unsafe
While these factors don’t always stop construction altogether, they can affect scheduling which may then result in delays.
