What owner actions can cause delays?
There are a few situations where progress can be impacted, usually where we’re waiting on the next step to keep things moving.
These may include:
- A progress payment being received later than expected
- Availability to attend your Practical Completion Inspection (PCI) or Practical Completion Sign-Off (PCS) once the home is ready
- Requests for contract variations, such as changes to the design, inclusions or selections
- Owner-completed works approved under the contract (for example pools, asbestos removal or retaining walls) not being completed when required
- Engaging a Private Building Consultant to inspect a stage, which may pause works while inspections and responses are completed
In some cases, delays arising from these situations may result in an extension of time under the contract.
